If your payment attempt was unsuccessful, you may still see a temporary pending charge on your bank or card statement. Here’s what that means.
Why You May See a Pending Charge
When a payment is attempted, your bank may place a temporary authorization hold on your card—even if the payment ultimately fails.
This is part of how card payments are processed and does not mean the transaction was completed.
Was I Charged?
No—if your payment failed, you were not charged.
The pending amount you’re seeing is not a completed transaction. It’s a temporary hold that will be released automatically by your bank.
How Long Will It Take to Disappear?
Authorization holds are typically released within 3–10 business days, depending on your bank or card provider.
This timing is set by your bank and cannot be expedited by EQL or the retailer.
What Should I Do If It Doesn’t Drop Off?
If the pending charge remains longer than expected, we recommend contacting your bank directly. They’ll be able to confirm the status of the hold and provide an exact timeline for its release.
