We know it is frustrating when your card declines after being selected. Here is what happens next.
Can EQL re-run my card?
No one on our team can manually re-run a card or take payment another way, so contacting support will not change the outcome. If stock is still available, the system may try your card again on its own, so keep your card ready.
Why did my card decline?
Declines happen at your bank, and we cannot see why a bank declines a payment. Your bank can tell you, and sorting it out now helps for future launches. Common causes:
- Your bank blocked an online payment
- Your billing address does not match what your bank has on file
- Not enough available funds, or a daily spending limit
Tip: Before a high-value launch, let your bank know a charge may be coming from the retailer (for example Topps, GradedGuard or Sneaker Politics).
What if I received a payment link?
If you were sent a payment link, use it to complete your purchase within the time shown. EQL+ members are guaranteed a 15-minute payment window. Courtesy links are sometimes sent to other fans but are not guaranteed. Links cannot be resent or reinstated, so the payment must be completed within that window.
Launches on a retailer's own website
Some launches run on the retailer's own Shopify site instead of runfair.com. If you entered one of these and received a draft invoice or a "pay to claim" email, the retailer handles that payment. Complete it through their site or contact the retailer directly.
