The Run Fair® Fee helps cover the costs of running secure, bot-protected, and fair launches through EQL. It’s only ever charged to fans who are selected to purchase.
So why does the fee vary?
The Run Fair® Fee is set by each retailer. Most choose a small percentage of the product price, typically between 2.5% and 5% to reflect the risk, complexity, and infrastructure required to keep the launch fair.
For products with higher retail prices, brands often cap the fee so fans aren't overcharged. While a $100 product may carry a $4 RFF (4%), a $1000 product might be capped at $40, not $50.
Where does the fee go?
This fee helps offset the cost of:
- Fraud prevention and bot mitigation
- Infrastructure to manage high demand
- Tools that ensure fairness (like verified accounts, deduplication, and fan prioritization)
EQL does not collect this fee on entry it’s only charged after a fan is selected and successfully completes checkout.
Want to skip the fee?
We get it. That’s why we introduced EQL+ a monthly membership that covers the Run Fair® Fee for all your wins, and adds perks like payment protection and size backups. No hidden charges, just more value for active fans.
